Gear decisions · make the next clear easier

Forge & Aspects

Separate equipment upgrades, rerolls, and class-bound Aspect rolls so free launch resources strengthen a build instead of disappearing across temporary items.

Dungeon Lootr’s official description names customizable stat builds and equipment upgrades as part of the progression loop. Current launch guides add the practical systems players encounter: Gear Score for quick comparison, the Forge for improving equipment, Reforge resources for changing an existing outcome, and Aspect Gems for passive traits tied to the equipped class.

Those systems all make numbers move, but they do not solve the same problem. The safest upgrade path starts with a real constraint from the last run—damage, survival, room control, or boss consistency—and spends on the smallest system that addresses it.

Forge, Reforge, and Aspects are separate decisions

SystemInputUseful question
Equipment upgradeKeeper gear and Forge resourcesWill strengthening this piece improve several future clears?
ReforgeAn existing piece and Reforge resourcesIs the item worth keeping, but its current outcome is the problem?
Aspect rollAspect Gems and the currently equipped classDo I intend to keep playing this class, and does the passive support its role?
Class unlock craftMatching Boss Rush fragmentsHave I finished the 50-fragment fallback for the selected lane?

The last row is easy to confuse with ordinary gear improvement because current guides also describe a Forge route for Honored One, Cursed King, and Anti Magic. That craft belongs to a class-unlock checklist; it should not be mixed mentally with upgrading a sword or rerolling equipment.

Use Gear Score as a filter, not a verdict

Gear Score helps sort a pile of extracted loot quickly. It can highlight a likely upgrade, but it cannot tell you whether the piece supports the class kit or repairs the part of the run that failed. A higher number that weakens the actual combat pattern is not automatically a better equipped choice.

Compare a candidate in this order:

  1. Does it occupy a weak slot? Replacing the weakest current piece usually has more value than polishing the strongest.
  2. Does it support the active build? Keep the class’s damage pattern and survivability needs in view.
  3. Did it improve the next run? Room speed, boss time, and clean extracts are the useful outputs.
  4. Will it survive the next board step? Upgrade a keeper, not every item that is briefly higher.
A failed run is diagnostic data.

If rooms are comfortable but the boss stalls, spend toward single-target output. If the boss is manageable but every room drains survival, prioritize stability before another damage reroll.

Forge the bottleneck piece first

Launch codes currently report Forge Stone Bundles and Reforge Stone Bundles among the free rewards. That supply can make the systems feel disposable. They are still more valuable when concentrated on a build that will open the next dungeon or floor threshold.

A conservative Forge priority is:

  1. Choose the class you can clear with now.
  2. Identify the slot most responsible for the failed or slow run.
  3. Select a piece that is already strong enough to keep through several attempts.
  4. Upgrade in small steps and test the result in the content that created the problem.
  5. Stop when the run becomes consistent; save the remaining bundle for the next real bottleneck.

This order prevents a common launch-week pattern: spending a complete reward batch on the first attractive item, replacing that item one dungeon later, then reaching Nightmare or Boss Rush without a reserve.

Reforge only when the base item deserves to stay

A Reforge is useful when the equipment piece is already a keeper and its current rolled outcome is what limits the build. Reforging a disposable leveling piece attempts to rescue the wrong part of the item. Before using a bundle, ask whether you would still equip the base piece if the next roll were merely acceptable.

Set a stopping condition before rerolling. “Any result that improves boss consistency” is a stopping condition. “The perfect result” is an open-ended sink. Current launch data does not support a universal best-in-slot table for every class, so the build’s observed clear pattern is the stronger decision input.

Aspect Gems roll for the equipped class

Current gameplay guides describe Aspects as passive bonuses bound to the class equipped when the Aspect is rolled. That makes the equipped class a required check, not a cosmetic detail. A code such as GIVEMEGEMSPLEASE or NEWASPECT can supply Aspect Gems, but redeeming the code and spending the gems are two separate actions.

  1. Equip the class you intend to use.
  2. Confirm that it is the correct class before opening the Aspect system.
  3. Roll with a build purpose: clear speed, boss output, or survival.
  4. Keep a useful passive instead of spending every remaining gem chasing an imagined perfect roll.
  5. Revisit only after the class or content target changes.

This is especially important for progression chains. Azure Devil has value as the required base for Awakened Devil EX, while Honored One feeds the Unrestricted route. Decide whether the current class is a long-term build or a bridge before committing scarce class-bound resources.

A practical spending plan from first extract to endgame

StagePrimary goalResource posture
Opening boardCreate repeatable extractsUse obvious equipment improvements; keep rare bundles mostly intact.
Middle boardRepair the active clear bottleneckForge one keeper slot and test before spreading upgrades.
Nightmare preparationMake the named class-item farm repeatableSpend where it reduces failed runs or boss time.
Challenge / Boss RushReach the material or floor tied to one targetKeep Coins and fragments aligned with the selected unlock path.
Established classRefine the buildReforge keeper gear and use class-bound Aspect Gems with a stopping rule.

The unlock planner protects the known class gates—500,000 Coins for Unrestricted, 1,000,000 Coins for Awakened Devil EX, and the 50-fragment Boss Rush alternatives—from disappearing inside general spending. The codes page identifies which current rewards supply Forge, Reforge, and Aspect resources.

A strong account is not the one with the most systems touched. It is the one whose class, equipment, spending, and target all point at the same next clear.
